University of Nottingham, May 29-30, 2014
Description: EPSRC has identified out-of-equilibrium systems as an important area for funding and is supporting a number of international meetings in order to focus this agenda. Progress in this area requires contributions from multiple fields, including statistical mechanics, atomic physics, quantum optics and condensed matter physics. The aim of this Workshop is to bring together experts in these fields to discuss novel advances in quantum non-equilibrium and to foster the exchange of ideas and techniques. Topics will include: thermalisation, dynamical phase transitions, quantum glasses, large deviations, and quantum fluctuation theorems. The Workshop is funded through the UK Network on Emergence and Physics far from Equilibrium.
Invited speakers include: Andrew Armour (Nottingham), Joe Bhaseen (King's College London), John Cardy (Oxford), Olalla Castro Alvaredo (City University London), Benjamin Doyon (King's College London), Jens Eisert (Berlin), Austen Lamacraft (Cambridge), Igor Lesanovsky (Nottingham), Eric Lutz (Erlangen-Nuremberg), Giuseppe Mussardo (SISSA), Anatoli Polkovnikov (Boston), Frank Pollmann (Dresden), Marcos Rigol (Penn State), Alessandro Silva (ICTP), Marzena Szymanska (UCL)
